Made from eco-dyed pandanus, emu feathers, metal; silk eco-printed with silver dollar eucalyptus, lemon scented eucalyptus and flowers from Mum’s garden, Jodie Dowd’s Sunlight (2023-2026) is a love letter to her Matriarchs, Country and plant kin.

Home Grown: Surface Tension
Home Grown: Surface Tension brings together works exploring notions of visibility, particularly the ways artists trace intangible and imperceptible histories. Like the invisible membrane of surface tension, these works suspend rather than fully reveal, inviting deeper inquiry beyond first glance. The exhibition is part of an annual series that showcases local artists and those with a significant connection to the City of Willoughby.
Willoughby Emerging Art Prize
The Willoughby Emerging Art Prize is now open for entries. Originally established in 1983, the Prize returns after a 19-year hiatus, relaunching as the Willoughby Emerging Art Prize. This revival reflects Council's renewed commitment to supporting and celebrating the next generation of Australian artists. A total prize pool of $15,000 will be awarded to the winners, generously supported by the Civic Place Trust.
