NSROC councils have responded to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s  (IPART) Paper on Local Government Productivity . NSROC argues that simple productivity measures used in business operations do not capture the breadth and scope of activities and quality improvements that councils are undertaking. Moreover NSROC argues that  productivity improvements where achieved should be redirected into areas where councils have needs such as infrastructure backlogs rather than used as offset against requests for rates variations which are now assessed by the Tribunal.
